Drop Off/Pick Up Information:

2/29/2012 through June 2012:  Pick up and drop off are available in the newly created front circle of Wellesley High School or at the existing Paine Street drop off and pick up.

Bike racks are located off Smith Street next to the new Child Lab playground. New Bike racks have just been installed.

NO PARKING IN HASHED AREAS ON PAINE STREET DROP OFF/PICK UP AREA. Parking during authorized times will result in vehicles being towed.

Drop Off/Pick Up Safety Reminder: Many vehicles are entering and exiting the drop off/pick up area in front of the school, and along the Paine Street drop off area, please be very careful to watch for pedestrians and students entering/exiting vehicles. We ask that during drop off/pick up times that vehicles try to go as slow as possible as students are walking in and around the surrounding streets and crosswalks. Also, the snow is piling up. Please be careful when exiting the circle.

Where to Walk - Sidewalks around Wellesley High School
The sidewalks surrounding Wellesley High School were redone over the Summer, 2011!
Sidewalks are plowed by the Wellesley Department of Public Works, on the roads surrounding Wellesley High School. Smith/State Street is plowed on the school side of the street. Coming from Washington Street down Paine Street, Paine Street is plowed on the left side of the road, Rice Street is plowed on the school side of the street, and Seaver Street is plowed on the school side of the street.

Emergency Egress for Students
All existing exit doors are operational for students to use during an evacuation. Spaces in the building have been posted with the appropriate exit directions to ensure the most efficient egress from the building during an emergency.

How are Authorized Construction Workers Identified?
All authorized CORI checked construction personnel are required to wear a Turner Construction hard hat at all times with a a Turner sticker on it.

Where do I find information regarding the Event & Visitor Parking?
DURING THE SCHOOL DAY: Visitor parking is available in the front circle of the school. Visitor parking is also available between the hours of 9:00 am - 1:00 pm where marked on the school side of Paine Street.

Please click the attached links for a map and detailed information regarding visitor and event parking not during the school day. If you park in the Basketball Parking lot after hours please do NOT block anyone in. It is NOT a Tandem lot after school ends. If a teacher or staff member is blocked in, violators will be towed at owner's expense.

What is the easiest and safest way to get to Wellesley High School?
  • For all current bus pass holders, using the bus is the easiest and safest way to get to school. The busses arrive at 7:20. There is also a pick up time at 2:35 pm.
  • If you are driving your child to school we ask that you pull your vehicle as far into the circle as possible to allow as many vehicles to enter. There is a drop off/pick up area available on the school side of Paine Street between the hours of 7:00 - 9:00 am and 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
